| As it does every season, the Orchestre National de Lille will pay a much-appreciated visit to Brussels, which the NOB, as always, will return. Under its conductor Jean-Claude Casadesus, the leading orchestra of the Nord will rekindle Berlioz's sublimated heartache. Like his Symphonie fantastique, his Lélio, a "monodrame lyrique" (a combination of music, both instrumental and vocal, and dramatic monologue), has its roots in the despair of a romantic break-up. |
